Development/Fund Raising Events

Valley Health Services maintains an annual Development Fund Drive to benefit the programs offered at the facility including cardiac rehabilitation and palliative care. 

An annual appeal letter soliciting donations is sent during the first quarter of each year.  Valley Health Services also sponsors several fund-raising events throughout the year to benefit the Development Fund Drive.

The first and largest of these fundraisers is The Magic of Herkimer.  This event is held the first weekend in June and features the hors d'oeuvres of many local restaurants, wine, ale and other beverages complemented by local musical talent.

Another annual favorite fund-raiser is the Brook’s Chicken and Rib barbecue held each summer.  Employees, residents and their family members as well as local and area residents enjoy mouth-watering chicken and rib dinners while helping to raise funds for VHS.

New to VHS’s fund-raising efforts is the Rehab-A-Room raffle.  Participants purchasing a $5.00 ticket have a chance to win a $2,500 prize package towards the rehabilitation of a room of their choice in their home.

Throughout the year, Valley Health Services sponsors various other raffle opportunities as well as several in-house sales where a percentage of the profits are donated to the development efforts.

Employees are also encouraged to donate regularly to the Development Fund Drive through bi-weekly payroll deduction or a one-time annual gift.
